Interest rate announcement - 12 August 2022. Bank Australia will increase variable home loan and commercial variable rates in response the RBA’s recent decision to raise the official cash rate. From 18 August 2022, interest rates will increase by 0.50% for variable rate owner-occupier and investor loans, while commercial variable rate loans will also increase by 0.50%. For existing home loan customers, repayment changes will be effective from 1 October 2022. Read more here.

Bank Australia recognises that an effective Whistleblowing Program helps a business to learn about problems, improve their practices, and reduce business risks and is also an important part of fostering a culture of ethical behaviour throughout the business.

Speaking up

Bank Australia recognises that an effective Whistleblowing Program helps a business to learn about problems, improve their practices, and reduce business risks and is also an important part of fostering a culture of ethical behaviour throughout the business.

We encourage employees and external parties to speak up and report any conduct they believe to be inappropriate. Bank Australia provides avenues to allow those who want to raise concerns to do so with appropriate support.

If you are a customer and have a complaint with the manner we have handled any matter, product, or service, then please contact us via phone, email or online.

Our program

Our Whistleblower Program describes what type of conduct can be reported and includes conduct that is

  • Dishonest
  • Illegal or Fraudulent
  • Corrupt
  • Unethical
  • Theft or embezzlement
  • A conflict of interest
  • Breach of internal policy (including the Staff Code of Conduct)
  • A danger to the public or financial system

The Whistleblower Program applies to any individual who is, or has been an employee, director, officer, contractor, consultant, service provider or supplier or business partner, associate of the company, and a relative, dependent or spouse of any of the aforementioned.

How to make a report

There are a number of ways individuals can report any concerns about conduct they believe isn’t right.

2. External - Contact one of our auditors

If for some reason individuals would rather not report the matter to a Whistleblowing Protection Officer, then they can contact one of our other executives or Board members detailed in our Whistleblower Program.
